Doth. I am puzzled by this word. Moreso, I am disturbed at the ease by which what is perceived by the eyes, understood by the mind can still be grossly misconceived by the brain somewhere in the process. In this case, how the words “does this” can be hacked and recombined into “doth”. It’s like by brain has some rogue concatenation laboratory that snatches unsuspecting information fragments and mutilates them and then reinserts them into the datastream and watches what happens when the mind apprehends the end result.
The sticking point, if it can be called that, here is that the mind knows that this is wrong immediately even without having read for context. In the specific case of “doth” the text was on a web page that was being minimized. It was seen by the eyes for less than half a second, if that. Still, the mind knows that “doth” is wrong and I don’t think it can be chalked up to a matter of archaism. If there is a rogue element in the mind/brain/central nervous system and it is making alteration and substitutions of sensory data with items from memory storage, logically there would be a gap or break in transmission. What?
Jeezus, that ran out of steam suddenly. I’ll leave that for now.
