About

Ever read something you had written, like, a year ago and not recognize it as your own?

I made this.

That’s what just happened to me now, right on this page! Also, it doesn’t really say much about me or the site. Here’s what it used to say (does this count as a meta-about?):

You want to know about what? Me or the site? Or, maybe it is this page you are interested in? Perhaps you are inquisitive about how a matrix of tiny coloured dots gets rendered into a realistic and moving image right before and within your eyes. Here’s a hint, none of this happens. Your eyes detect the vibration of photons, transfer that vibration frequency up your optic nerve and the back part of your brain susses it out following patterns it learned from your great (to the power of a zillion) grandparents. Essentially, you are experiencing a primordial illusion that relies heavily on the fact that we haven’t yet evolved beyond picking bugs out of our arses and eating bananas.  What am I rambling about? Maybe that’s what you want to know. Just shut up already, I’m tired and grumpy just looking at you.

Please do not hesitate to direct all loveletters, threats of immolation and virtual fruit-baskets to: goose@aintjohn.ca. I thank you.

As for the site, have a look through the posts already here… I want to share some of my experiences as the Universe, about chronic pain, on the buddhist path, other explorations in consciousness and reality, photography, and the odd language bomb — partially because I believe it is important to plug back into the collective mindspace as often and as genuinely as possible, but also because writing this stuff down helps me keep a record and build on my reasoning/long conceptualizing.
